William Joseph Finigan passed away August 26, 2021 after his 2 year-long fight with cancer. Bill passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Bill was born March 26, 1958 in Cambridge, MA and raised in Concord, MA with his five older siblings. However, when the seasons changed from Spring to Summer, you would find Bill and the rest of the Finigan clan at their summer home in North Falmouth.
Bill graduated Concord-Carlisle High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from Dean College and a Bachelor's Degree from Roger Williams College. Bill worked at Mid-Cape Home Centers as Construction Outside Sales. Bill is also a member of The Concord Battery.
Bill met his wife Courtney in Boston in 1986 and they were married in 1988. They would be celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary on October 15, 2021. What Bill would claim as his “greatest accomplishments” are his three girls, Casey, Chloe and Carly. He was a dedicated father and spent his nearly 31-year-career as “Dad” making sure they knew how much he loved them. He was always there to give late night words of wisdom over manhattans, spin you around on the dance floor, and provide corny dad-jokes which were always followed up with, “come on, that was funny!!”.
Aside from being a devoted husband and loving father, he was an unwavering friend. His loyalty to his friends can be seen in the impressive number of extended friendships he has held throughout his life, many of which are in excess of 50 years long. While he was taken from us well before we were ready, Bill was always there to keep you laughing and your glass full. Bill was the best of the best and we will miss him every day.
Bill is survived by his wife, Courtney (Lewandowski), and three daughters: Casey and her fiancé Ken Dettman, Chloe and her fiancé Shawn Murphy, and Carly. He is also survived by his family: Mary & husband Ron Kaufman of Duxbury MA, Susan & husband John Coons of Irvine CA, Carol and husband Chris Wilson of Concord MA/Cotuit, MA, Kathy Stone of Concord MA, and Jack Finigan and wife Teri of Concord MA. He is also uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, John “JB” and Eleanor Finigan, and his father-in-law Richard “Luke” Lewandowski.
