Milestone Moment for the Willie Fund as total contributions surpass $200k.
The Willie Fund started 2025 with an exciting new milestone as total contributions hit $200,100 in March.
First established in the Summer of 2021, The Willie Fund works directly with Mass Eye and Ear and allocates all donations to the ME&E team and the advancement of cancer research, specifically Head and Neck Cancer Research.
“We are amazed by the overwhelming support”, says founder Casey Finigan Dettman. “In just a few years we have already exceeded $200,000 in donations and total contributions, and we’re only getting started.”
“Through donations from family, friends, co-workers, local businesses, friends-of-friends, friends-of-family and beyond, as well as generous donation matches from partners of Mass Eye and Ear, we’ve been able to reach this milestone”, Casey says. “We’ve achieved this by essentially nothing more than word-of-mouth”, she adds. “It really goes to show how much of an impact my Dad had, and still has, on people.”
The Willie Fund is excited to keep this momentum going in 2025, especially through events like the 53rd Annual ASICS Falmouth Road Race in August. However, Casey does emphasis that there are a few other things in the works. So, be sure to stay tuned.
“We’re honored to be a small part in this horrible fight”, says Casey. “I look forward to continuing to honor my Dad. I miss him everyday.”
The Willie Fund hopes to double their total contributions in the next 2 years. To donate and learn more about how you can get involved, please click here.
